About
Somerfield Lodge lies at the entrance to the beautiful Gower Peninsula, the UK’s first designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It is situated adjacent to Clyne Golf Club and has 6 en-suite twin rooms, all including a power shower. Ample free parking and free Wi-Fi is available. A freshly cooked full breakfast is included in the price and guests have access to all the facilities of the Golf Club, including the bar and dining room. All our food is home cooked and range from simple bar meals to delicious 3-course meals.
The Club House offers two bars one of which has panoramic views of the golf course whilst the other a magnificent sea view of Swansea Bay. All resident visitors are also able to take advantage of reduced green fees when playing at Clyne Golf Club, one of the finest 18 hole moorland golf courses in Wales and designed by the legendary Harry Colt in the 1920s.
Guests can explore the beautiful seaside town of Mumbles which is situated 2 miles from the lodge. This offers excellent café bars and shopping. Why not visit Oystermouth Castle (dating back to the 12th century) or stroll along the promenade which overlooks Swansea and the Bristol Channel. A further 5 minute drive from the Mumbles will take visitors into the heart of the Gower Peninsula where 19 miles of beauty, beaches and bays await all visitors.
Somerfield Lodge is also in close proximity to Swansea City, in particular to the University of Swansea and Singleton Hospital, both of which are only a 5 minute drive away.
