An electric celebration of live grassroots music
Join us at Swansea’s Amphitheatre (outside LC Swansea) and celebrate Swansea’s vibrant grassroots music scene with two days of live performances from some of the area’s most exciting artists at Amplitude.
This free festival, taking place on 22–23 August, is the perfect opportunity to discover local talent across a rich mix of genres, from indie rock and pop to folk, with something to get everyone dancing.
Please note: You may bring your own food and one sealed bottle of water per person into the amphitheatre. No other drinks are permitted, unless purchased from the onsite bar. Sorry, no dogs allowed.
Amplitude, presented by Swansea Council, showcases the city’s creative talent and gives local artists a platform to reach new audiences.

1:30 – 1:45 Rhiannon O'Connor
14:15 – 15:00 The Stray Pursuit
The Stray Pursuit is an alternative indie rock four-piece band from Swansea, Wales. Known for big guitar riffs and raw energy, their sound draws inspiration from bands like Stereophonics, Catfish and The Bottlemen, and Kasabian.
15:30 – 16:15 AKiMBO
Swansea formed 5 piece dark, sodden, rusty, worn & cryptic fusion rock group; AKiMBO. Forged somewhere between near abandoned warehouses, late night rehearsals, and the collective refusal to write anything cheerful.
16:45 – 17:30 Papa Jupe’s T.C.
Papa Jupe’s T.C. drench post-punk in sleazy surf rock. Their surreal lyrics lampoon masculinity, politics, and power.
The 6-piece band was founded in Cardiff, by frontman Harry Willicombe, guitarist Sam Butcher and bassist Alex Miller. Ash Smith’s drumming, Tom Emlyn’s synth work, and Nashville-import Gemini Anderson’s joyous vocals have cemented Papa Jupe’s T.C. as a unique voice in the Cardiff music scene.
18:00 – 18:45 Zac and the New Men
Zac and The New Men are a Welsh rock band turning heads with their electrifying energy, raw musicianship, and genre-blending sound. What started as a group of best friends dodging homework has evolved into one of the UK’s most exciting rising acts—going from pub gigs to the stage of The Royal Albert Hall.
Fusing Pop slapped Dirty rock, and modern alt-rock, their sound draws inspiration from Nothing But Thieves, Dead Poet Society, Muse and Royal Blood—yet remains uniquely their own. Their live shows are more than just performances; they’re an invitation to be part of something real.
19:15 – 20:00 M0Li
Originally hailing from Gwaun Cae Gurwen, passionate performer combining fierce musical talent, creativity and choreography, M0Li has stunned stages across the UK including Band on the Wall, The Blues Kitchen, Green Island Festival, Swansea Arena also winning battle of the bands at Co-Op live.
Inspired by Motown, gospel, soul and funk, M0Li has been cultivating a unique, fun and high energy sound. After releasing her debut single and summertime anthem, ‘Suga Mama’ earlier this summer, M0Li has been turning heads across the UK music scene. We are delighted to welcome M0Li and her band to headline Saturday night at Amplitude.

13:00 – 13:45 Buttonsville
Formed in 2004, Buttonsville are true veterans of the Swansea live music scene. For over two decades, this tight-knit group has performed with an unchanged lineup, bringing an undeniable chemistry and seasoned musicianship to every stage they grace. The band has built a dedicated following in Swansea and we’re delighted to introduce them to you.
14:15 – 15:00 John Dignam Trio (JD3)
Amplitude welcomes the long-awaited return of the John Dignam Trio (JD3.) A highly skilled and acclaimed guitar player, known for sharing stages with the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, Frank Vignola and Clive Carroll, John will be joined by the talented and prolific Huw Rees (drummer) and Daniel KilBride (bassist.)
15:30 - 15.45 - The Modern Rogues
The Modern Rogues are a Swansea based country/rock/americana band, made up of friends Josh, Scott, Rhys and Sam. Armed with their self-penned, heartfelt, grassroots country rock music, this band love performing, and getting people up and moving in the process!
16:45 – 17:30 Virgil and the Accelerators
Virgil & the Accelerators are back as an explosive blues-rock power trio for their highly requested 2026 comeback tour, "The Phoenix Returns." Spearheaded by award-winning frontman Virgil Van der Merwe, the revamped lineup features the powerhouse rhythm section of bassist Maddy Kiley (Maddy K) and drummer Jamie Williams. This new era marks a deliberate return to the band’s core identity—delivering a stripped-back, raw, and significantly heavier sound that has reignited the UK live circuit.
18:00 – 18:45 Waterpistol
Waterpistol is a South Wales psych-rock six-piece blending 1960s guitar psychedelia, 1990s shoegaze, and classic rock and roll, featuring members Harry Watton, Rhea Padua, Aaron Tormey, Carwyn Whiteman, Emma Way, and Tommy Evans / Efan Watkins.
19:15 – 20:00 The Pepperseeds
The Pepperseeds are a dynamic soul and funk band based in Cardiff, South Wales, known for their electrifying live performances and a blend of classic covers and original compositions. Fronted by the charismatic Jamaican-British vocalist Dionne Bennett, the band delivers a powerful and soulful sound that captivates audiences.
Praised for their infectious enthusiasm and musical prowess. The Pepperseeds continue to be a standout act in the UK's soul and funk scene.
