About
Clyne Gardens is a beautiful botanical park located between Swansea City Centre and Mumbles. Originally designed as private gardens in the 19th century, the park now spans 50 acres of landscaped grounds that rise gently from the shores of Swansea Bay.
The park is known for its large collection of Rhododendrons and Azaleas, as well as Pieris, Enkianthus, ornamental grasses, herbaceous plants, and mature trees. In total, there are over 10,000 trees and more than 2,000 plant species.
Open all year round and free to enter, the gardens are popular with dog walkers, families, and anyone looking for a peaceful place to enjoy nature. Visitors can explore its winding paths and discover unique features like the Japanese bridge and the tower folly.
Clyne Gardens has held the Green Flag Award since 2012, recognising its high standards in maintenance and visitor experience.
Every May, the gardens host Clyne in Bloom, a month-long event with live music, craft stalls, family activities, and guided tours. It’s a great time to visit and enjoy the gardens at their most colourful.
The Friends of Clyne Gardens is a volunteer group that help support and promote the gardens. Find out more on their website: Clyne Gardens – Specialist botanical park Swansea
