Hejira – The Music of Joni Mitchell

Sunday 6 September, 8.15pm

Swansea Minster, St Marys Square

Hejira is a 7‑piece band celebrating Joni Mitchell’s ground-breaking late‑70s jazz period.

Inspired by her classic albums Hejira, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter, and Mingus, as well as the iconic live recording Shadows and Light, the band brings this rich repertoire back to the stage with style and authenticity.

Fronted by the outstanding Hattie Whitehead, who beautifully captures the spirit and nuance of Mitchell’s vocal and guitar work, Hejira features a lineup of top‑tier jazz musicians who honour these timeless songs while making them feel fresh and alive.

· Hattie Whitehead – vocals & guitar

· Ollie Weston – tenor & soprano saxophones

· Chris Eldred – keyboards

· Pete Oxley – guitar

· Dave Jones – bass

· Rick Finlay – drums
