Swansea's Three Nights' Blitz of February 1941 - 85 years later.

This is a commemoration of the 85th anniversary of the Three Nights’ Blitz which happened on 19 to 21 February 1941. The Blitz devastated the city centre and changed Swansea’s history forever. Swansea Central Library will be hosting an all-day event on February 28th to mark this with talks exploring the Blitz from many perspectives from the German attackers to the valiant defenders and the full story of what occurred during the raids.

11.20am - Break

11.30am - Bernard Lewis - Preparing for Disaster: Defending Swansea

12.30pm - Break

1.40pm - Dr John Alban - 'Swansea's Three Nights' Blitz in Context'

2.50pm - Brains Trust - Panel discussion and questions

There will be a wartime themed self-led children’s craft and quiz activities on the same day. There will also be a display to see on the Second World War on the first floor.
