About

The South West Wales Connected Community Rail Partnership is organising an event to honour the Swansea and Mumbles Railway as part of the Railway 200 celebrations. This event will feature a marquee, a small stage, and collaborations with councils, community groups, and schools to create an unforgettable gathering. It aims to bring everyone together to celebrate the world's first passenger fare-paying railway, which began in 1807!

Open to the general public, rail enthusiasts, rail providers, and community groups, this event serves as a pilot initiative with hopes of becoming an ongoing tradition. Swansea's rich rail heritage and the pride many still feel for the Swansea and Mumbles Railway make this celebration a fitting tribute in this milestone year of Railway 200.
