Wild Eyed, Wicked And Oblivious

Wild Eyed, Wicked And Oblivious are a great band to see live, original, quirky with great harmonies, a wonderful sense of fun, and toe tapping, sing along songs. Their music is refreshingly different.

Folk with a hint of 60's harmonies, African rhythyms, ska, a tea chest bass, and electronic wind instrument, 12 and six sting acoustic guitars, mandolin and a great percussion.....Singing tales from the past, and zulu dreams. Calling down the moon, Dancing with out light pollution , love, loss and a copper-waltz.

"A strangely elegant collection of eccentrics who create a world through their buoyant and instantly memorable songs. Once you have seen them once, you are a part of it." James Rees. Musician and Events Manager.
"Imagine a cross between Ian Dury, and Bob Dylan, throw in a bit of the Pogues and a splash of Clannad and you are half way there."
"This Band are a great sound, original, quirky, entertaining, excellent, great fun live.... Incredibly amusing to watch."

The Velveteen Orkestra

"The Velveteen Orkestra has the ability to make audiences swoon while, at the same time, casting forth an air of unease with their intoxicating hybrid of rich romanticism and brutal intensity. Embodying essences of European folk and Americana with nodding acquaintances to Neil Young, Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Radiohead, their sound can gently pluck at your heartstrings while, at the same time, delicately slipping them around your neck.

The Velveteen Orkestra are a ragged-trousered rock and roll orchestra conceived in a leaky, shadow-veiled district of South London. Bellowing out from underneath the grey brutalist tower blocks named in honour of romantic poets is a sound that is both savage, yet elegant… animal, yet noble… honest, yet fantastical.

Their pulsating live shows are attracting audiences for their rich romanticism and brooding intensity, as well as their sparkling sense of humour. Lead Singer/Guitarist Dan Shears emits a gilt-edged voice from a spindle-limbed frame, evoking memories of Jeff Buckley at his heart-aching best.

“With a songwriting gift that belies his tender years, haunted troubadour Shears strides into town evoking seasoned greats like Cave and Cohen” - ANDY COWN, MUSIC WEEK & MOJO
“Dressed Up in Sables is phenomenal. It’s indie/folk with a twist… we’re entranced” - IMPOSE MAGAZINE
“Stellar musicians and Dan’s spectral vocals only made them more unique” - BRIGHTON’S FINEST
“Dan Shears has an incredibly wide vocal range with a gorgeous poetic quality, combined with an engaging, sharp wit and cockney charm. His voice evokes memories of artists as diverse as Nick Cave, Morrissey, Frankie Valli and Roy Orbison amongst others. The band is set to make an indelible mark on the British music scene” - CHOICE FM ONLINE
""The venue had filled up by the time The Velveteen Orkestra took to the stage and it soon became clear why. They had frenetic, flamboyant, gypsy folk style reminiscent of Holy Moly & The Crackers, but with darker undertones."" - MUSIC CLOSE UP "

Mishkin Fitzgerald

Mishkin Fitzgerald is best known for her role as lead singer and pianist in the British ‘orchestral punk-rock’ band, Birdeatsbaby. Solo she plays darkly tinged pianos ballads and weird alt-pop tunes. Influenced heavily by classical piano music, and alternative artists such as Nick Cave, Patti Smith and Regina Spektor, Mishkin’s sound is distinctive, fragile and unapologetic.

Catherine Elms

“Introspective music with dark intensity” – Sinusoidal
“Brilliant” – BBC Radio Wales
“A must-hear artist” – CLOUT
“Dramatic” – Buzz Magazine

Catherine Elms is a dark pop singer-songwriter with a soft yet powerful voice; introspective and fierce in equal measure. Drawing on the raw, heartfelt emotion of Tori Amos and the brash power of PJ Harvey, Catherine has found an evocative and cathartic style that is all her own.

A self-taught pianist with heavy rock sensibilities, Catherine creates an epic and transcendent sound that explores millennial frustrations with sensitivity and quiet hope. Catherine self-released her debut album, ‘I Have Seen It, I Do Not Fear It’, in November 2022, and promoted the album with a UK tour in spring 2023.
